Short answer
Peec AI measures brand presence inside AI-generated answers.
Peec AI is an AI-search analytics platform for marketing, SEO, and communications teams. You give it conversational prompts that potential customers might ask, define your brand and competitors, and choose the AI platforms and markets to monitor. Peec then runs those questions repeatedly and reports visibility, position, sentiment, competitors, chats, and sources. It does not improve visibility by itself. Its job is to show where a brand appears, where it is absent, and which evidence may explain the difference. You can start with Peec AI through my partner link. 01 · When to pay attention
Use Peec when you have decisions to make, not just a score to report.
- 01
You want to know whether your brand appears for unbranded questions that buyers ask before they know which provider to choose.
- 02
You need to compare visibility across topics, markets, AI platforms, or named competitors using the same prompt set over time.
- 03
You want to inspect the actual answers behind an aggregate score instead of treating the dashboard as the result.
- 04
Your content or PR plan needs evidence about which domains and pages AI systems retrieve or cite in your category.
- 05
You can assign an owner to review the findings, verify important answers, and turn a small number of gaps into content, technical, or outreach work.
- 06
You accept that AI answers vary and that a monitored prompt set is a sample, not a complete measurement of demand, traffic, or revenue.
02 · Working method
Read Peec as four connected layers of evidence.
A visibility percentage becomes useful only when you can trace it back to the prompts, chats, brands, and sources that produced it.
Prompts and topics
Prompts are conversational questions, not short keyword strings. Group them by one topic and add tags for flexible filters such as funnel stage, audience, market, or intent. A prompt set should cover discovery, comparison, objections, use cases, and decisions without quietly inserting your brand name into every question.
Chats and brand metrics
A chat is one recorded answer to one prompt on one AI platform in one location and time period. Visibility shows how often the brand is mentioned. Position records where the brand appears among named alternatives. Sentiment describes how the brand is presented. Open the chats before explaining any of those numbers.
Sources and citations
Sources are pages used while an answer is generated; citations are the subset explicitly shown in the answer. Review domains and individual URLs to learn which publishers, communities, company pages, comparisons, and guides influence the topic. A source can be retrieved even when your brand is not named.
Actions and limits
Use recurring gaps to decide whether to improve an owned page, clarify an entity, publish missing evidence, earn legitimate third-party coverage, or leave the topic alone. Peec measures AI-answer observations. It does not prove Google rank, search volume, website visits, attribution, or sales.
03 · Comparison
Peec AI, Profound, Semrush, or Ahrefs: which type of product fits?
Peec publishes comparison pages for Profound, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, and Ahrefs Brand Radar. The summary below reflects Peec’s description of those products, not an independent side-by-side test by me. Features, plan limits, and prices change, so verify the current product and pricing pages before choosing.
| Product | Likely fit | How Peec positions the difference |
|---|---|---|
| Peec AI | Marketing, SEO, communications, and agency teams that want a specialist AI-search monitoring workflow built around their own prompts. | Peec emphasizes daily custom-prompt tracking, visibility, position, sentiment, source and citation analysis, competitor gaps, recommended actions, exports, and collaboration. It does not position itself as a traditional SEO suite or content generator. |
| Profound | Larger teams looking for a broader enterprise AI-visibility suite, including content workflows and agent or crawler analytics. | Peec’s comparison presents Profound as broader at the enterprise end, while positioning Peec as easier to adopt and more focused on accessible visibility tracking and source-led actions. Confirm current entry-tier access, integrations, and security requirements directly with both vendors. |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | Teams already using Semrush that want AI visibility beside established keyword, competitor, backlink, and site-audit workflows. | Peec contrasts its purpose-built custom prompt tracking and detailed third-party source analysis with an AI module inside a wider SEO platform. The practical trade-off is specialist depth versus keeping the work in an existing SEO stack. |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Existing Ahrefs users and research teams that value a very large prompt database for broad market and brand discovery. | Peec contrasts Brand Radar’s large shared dataset with Peec’s smaller, daily custom prompt sets, sentiment tracking, prompt organization, gap analysis, and action workflow. Choose based on whether you need macro research or repeated monitoring of questions you control. |
Practical sequence
Set up a useful Peec AI project in six passes.
- 01
Define the decision
Write down what the project must help you decide. Examples include which comparison page to publish, which country needs separate content, or which external sources deserve closer review. Choose one brand, market, audience, and review period for the first project.
- 02
Build a balanced prompt set
Start with questions customers ask during discovery, evaluation, and selection. Rephrase relevant Search Console queries conversationally, interview sales or support, and use Peec suggestions as candidates. Remove duplicates, leading wording, and prompts that differ only by one adjective.
- 03
Add real competitors
Include the organisations buyers genuinely compare, then watch the chats for untracked brands that appear repeatedly. Do not limit the project to the companies you hope are competitors. AI answers may reveal a different consideration set.
- 04
Wait for a baseline and inspect chats
Let the prompts run before drawing conclusions. The Peec quickstart says initial insights usually arrive within 24–48 hours. Read strong, weak, and surprising chats across the selected models. Check whether the answer understood the question and whether the brand detection is materially correct.
- 05
Trace gaps to sources
For a weak topic, compare the domains and URLs that support visible competitors. Separate owned pages from editorial, corporate, community, and reference sources. Decide whether the gap is missing information, weak page structure, unclear brand association, limited third-party evidence, or simply poor fit.
- 06
Change one thing and review the trend
Create a dated action log. Improve or publish the smallest justified asset, record the affected prompts, and review later runs alongside search, referral, and conversion data. Keep the prompt set stable during the test unless the prompt itself is the problem.
A bounded example from my own work
The 42 Portugal sample showed where the aggregate score stopped being useful.
In my 42 Portugal search and AI visibility case study, I tracked 25 Portuguese questions that did not name 42. The completed sample contained 956 AI answers and 6.6k recorded source uses from 602 websites. Overall visibility was 60% with an average recorded position of #1.7. The actionable finding was more specific: 42 appeared consistently for free coding-school and campus-discovery questions, but much less often for preparation, learning without teachers, and employer-recognition questions. Those figures describe that dated Peec sample. They do not measure Google rankings, visits, applications, or enrolments. The case study links the method, prompt categories, source patterns, and limitations.

Questions
Questions people ask before using Peec AI.
Is Peec AI an SEO tool?
It is an AI-search analytics tool that can inform SEO, GEO, content, digital PR, and brand work. It tracks how brands and sources appear in AI-generated answers. It does not replace crawl diagnostics, keyword demand, rank tracking, website analytics, or conversion measurement.
Which prompts should I track in Peec AI?
Track questions a real buyer could ask during discovery, comparison, objection handling, and selection. Include unbranded prompts, use-case questions, audience-specific needs, alternatives, and important regional wording. Keep the set focused enough that each prompt supports a decision.
How many prompts should I start with?
Peec’s quickstart recommends adding an initial set of ten prompts. That is enough to test your categories and spot setup problems before scaling. A smaller balanced set that you can review is more useful than hundreds of near-duplicates.
How long does Peec AI take to show data?
The official quickstart says first insights generally appear within 24–48 hours. Treat that as the beginning of a baseline, not proof of a trend. AI responses vary, so repeated observations matter more than one run.
Can Peec AI tell me how to improve AI visibility?
It can expose prompt gaps, competitor patterns, influential domains, cited URLs, and suggested actions. A person still needs to verify the chats, judge source quality, choose an ethical intervention, and measure whether the work changed a useful outcome.
What is the difference between a source and a citation in Peec?
A source is a URL an AI system used while generating an answer. A citation is a source explicitly referenced in the visible answer. Peec tracks both, so source retrieval and visible citation should not be reported as the same thing.
Is Peec AI better than Profound, Semrush, or Ahrefs Brand Radar?
There is no universal winner. Peec is a specialist option for repeated custom-prompt monitoring, source analysis, sentiment, and gap-led actions. Profound may fit enterprise teams wanting broader AI content and agent analytics. Semrush may fit teams that want AI visibility inside an established SEO suite. Ahrefs Brand Radar may fit broad market research built on a very large prompt dataset. Test the same real prompts and reporting task in the shortlisted products before committing.
Is the Peec AI link in this article an affiliate link?
Yes. The Peec AI signup link is a partner link. I may receive a commission if you later pay for the service. It does not add to your price. The case-study observations and limitations are reported independently of that relationship.
